The effect was striking. Important changes were made to both engine and chassis. The frame x-member was changed from i-beam to channel construction and all wood structural elements were replaced with steel. The engine combustion chambers were redesigned and new “turbulator” pistons raised the compression ratio from 5. 9 to 6. 5:1, resulting in an increase in horsepower to 141. This magnificent example is finished in stunning rembrandt black with tan bedford cord upholstery. It has traveled only 33,000 original documented miles since new and was maintained to the highest standards. It is largely original, with the exception of a professional bare metal exterior refinish to its original color. This 1946 buick roadmaster is a great running and driving car. It hits the road like a champ. This car was restored in the year 2000 so it has been done 16 years but still looks great. It is powered by a 350 small block chevy engine with an electric fan to keep it running cool and is connected to a smooth shifting 350 turbo transmission with a trans cooler. It has a gm front clip with power steering and power drum brakes. The rear is a 10 bolt chevy with 3:08 gears. It is really amazing how good the black paint still looks and shines. The body is nice and straight with no rust issues that i have seen. The interior is still in good condition as well and is done in a two tone burgandy cloth. It is a little out dated but has no rips or tears in the seats. The headliner is in good condition as is the carpet. It has a tilt steering column and has vintage a/c. The trunk was finished to match the interior and it has a spare tire and a jack. The stereo player works as does the interior dash lights behind the gauges and even the cigarette lighter works. All the original gauges work. It has a horn button that was added and it works as well. The bumpers look new as does the chrome grill. The door handles, body trim and all the window trim looks good. This car has been driven on several long trips to different car shows. It is truely a very good driver. Air Conditioning
