This is it, the car that re-started the muscle car craze in the early 1980s. Finding clean, unabused, and straight Fox Mustangs isn't easy these days, but this one has a lot going for it. The silver paint with a gray stripe was Ford's signature look in the '80s and it looks great on this '84 LX, which is the GT's fraternal twin with slightly less aggressive clothing. There are no significant modifications, no goofy wing, no body kit, no cowl induction hood, so it retains that clean, chiseled look that made the Fox Mustang such a runaway hit. There are signs of use, but the doors close with authority, which is especially nice considering that this is a T-top car. The rub strips on the flanks have been removed to clean up the look a bit but it retains the stock-style rear spoiler, window gills and legendary '5.0' emblems on the front fenders. This is a Mustang that's obviously led a good life. The interior is just as well maintained, starting with the gray cloth bucket seats. There is some wear, yes, but no splits or tears in the upholstery and considering its age, the preservation is impressive. Original door panels and carpets lend more credence to the idea that this is a car that was always well-maintained, and just about the only demerit might be a pair of cracks in the dash pad. The original radio is gone, replaced by a modern AM/FM/CD stereo head unit, but otherwise it appears to be original spec throughout. The funky steering wheel is pure '80s Ford, and it includes options like cruise control, A/C (needs to be serviced), power windows and locks, and the aforementioned T-tops. The original shifter manages a T5 5-speed manual gearbox, still one of the best-shifting manual transmissions ever made, and all the big-round gauges are operational. It's a 1990 roller short block with GT40 heads, upgraded springs, 1.7:1 roller rockers, and an E-303 cam, so it makes great torque without being peaky. There's still a 4-barrel carburetor under the chrome Motorsport air cleaner, and the matching valve covers dress things up a bit. All told, it makes about 300 very tractable and well-behaved horsepower, so it's just a joy to drive. Other upgrades include a big radiator up front, shorty headers, and an X-pipe with Flowmaster mufflers for that traditional 5.0 sound. Clean styling makes it still one of the best-looking of the fox mustangs, and this one is a striking red-on-red car that hasn't been abused or raced. Ford got the package exactly right in 1984, combining the hottest 5. 0 yet with the new convertible body style, then making it so affordable that it was the biggest performance bargain in more than two decades. The biggest aftermarket performance revolution since the small-block chevy made these cars targets for drag racers and customizers, and as a result, it's extremely rare to find a largely original example like this. The paint is original, and it's not easy to believe that it's coming up on 35 years old. Black rub strips around the perimeter of the body make it look long and lean and someone painted the rockers black to accentuate that impression. For a mustang convertible of this vintage to be in such great shape is almost unheard-of. The gauges are all fully functional except the temperature gauge and the stuff that's always broken on these cars (the console lid and ashtray) are still present and accounted for. The same goes for the original am/fm/cassette stereo head unit, which remains in the center of the dash. The convertible mustang returned in 1983, and in 1984, the top was power actuated and stows neatly under a clean red boot. The 5. 0 ho evolved each year, and 1984 brought yet another horsepower increase. Once again, with modifications being so easy on a mustang, it's amazing that this one has not been significantly upgraded. The engine has never been opened, the original air cleaner is still in place, and it's still exhaling through stock manifolds. A/c is a nice addition, since a lot of these were built for the track, and it's extremely clean throughout the engine bay. This one also packs the highly desirable 5-speed manual transmission feeding the original 8. 8-inch rear. Heck, even the 2. 73 gears are original! Power steering - power brakes - manual windows i'm selling my 1984 ford f-150 this truck is very original with minor motor upgrades. The truck has 77k+ original miles with the original, paint and interior in very good condition. I've driven it north carolina and back multiple times without issue. The motor is very nice and super clean. The exterior of the truck has a great patina to it. The truck has no rust. I've attached a photo of the worst place on the truck and it's nothing. Faded hood very typical of these fords. The driver side of the truck is really in amazing shape with small dings on the bed but otherwise great. The passenger side of the truck sat in the sun and has a little more character than the other side. It gives the truck an overall nice look. The truck has a small dent in the passenger door but otherwise no major dents on the body. The underside is clean and free of any rust. The interior is in excellent condition for being original. The driver side of the bench seat as a few tears but i left it because i think it goes with the truck. The dash has a cover on it with a few cracks around the speaker in the center. Everything on the truck works except the lighter. All gauges, lights, horn, turn signals, doom light - everything. The truck doesn't smoke or leak any fluids. The truck also burns very little oil. The heater works great but the a/c is not hooked up. I've never run it but everything is in place and untampered with. With some work i see no reason why it wouldn't work. The motor runs excellent and trans shifts great. I drive it on the highway and it has no problems at 75+mph - it has a new radiator and a complete flush was done at that time. The tires are about 10 months old and have full warranty. The timing chain and water pump were done about 20k ago. New front shocks about 4 months ago - it has air shocks on the rear. Tow hitch and with electrical plugs for trailer lights in bumper. Sold with bill of sale - i have a north carolina title that was signed over to me but the car wasn't registered with it due to the state of georgia not requiring a title for a 1984 model truck.
