Mustang gts in particular were always dark blue or blue with gray, but on this f150, light blue seems to work better. Repainted about 15 years ago, it's a tribute to the era and it's quite remarkable that its custodians over the past 35 years have chosen to maintain that look without any notable modifications. For functionality, there's an extremely nice painted bed, a set of polished bedrails, and oversized side-view mirrors for towing. Just as the paint is vivid and clean, so is the blue bench seat interior. By 1985, trucks were not just working-class tools, and ford's xlt models offered a ton of creature comforts. Cloth seats, full carpeting that's still in great shape, and stylish door panels that were a big step beyond the plain steel panels of just a few years earlier. This particular pickup also includes cold factory a/c, power steering and power brakes, and it's been upgraded with a modern am/fm/cd stereo system that sounds great. The headliner overhead is in good shape, and the overall look isn't that of a truck that had workers climbing in and out, but rather a clean daily driver that someone was exceptionally proud to own and it shows. Ford's venerable 5. 0 liter v8 delivers great torque, mostly due to the impossibly long snorkels feeding the dual throat throttle body and long tube runners on the intake. It starts with a surprisingly mustang-like v8 burble from the dual exhaust and idles like it wants to run. It's highly original under the hood, with the only notable deviation from stock being a flowmaster muffler, and considering the vast array of aftermarket parts available, that's pretty remarkable. A 4-speed aod automatic handles the gears, giving the f150 long legs on the highway and reasonable fuel mileage, and the undercarriage is still built with heavy-duty parts designed to work hard. Stylish 15-inch aluminum wheels with matching chrome center caps are the perfect look for this hauler, and wear 235/75/15 michelin ltx truck radials. Seller's comments and description: for sale is a 1985 ford f-150 4x4 truck that has been converted over to diesel and manual transmission. The engine is a 4bt cummins turbo diesel. It starts right up without difficulty. This truck has been converted now for several years, thus all the bugs worked out. It has a paper towel bypass oil filter. Mpg is around mid 20's city and slightly higher highway. Tires are good 75. It has been recently painted with plastic dip spray. Interior seats are mercedes multi-adjustable electric. Truck is excellent shape mechanically, and has made multiple cross country trips without any problems. Included is camper top, as well as a ranger iii overdrive unit that was at one time in the truck. The owner took out the od unit because he suspected some bearing noise in the od unit, but then never replaced it. The truck originally had ac, though not currently working. Ac lines are present, but no ac compressor or brackets. Spare tire included. Current tires are 235/75r15. This is a very very nice clean orginal solid no-rusty or rot suvivor bronco and is not a beat down sled! Paint shines bright and slick and looks like a quality first repaint of orginal color on a very straight body all jambs are orginal paint and paint on fiberglass top is original and top looks like it was never off! Nice clean interor and headliner and dash are excellent and seats show great and sit nice! The 5. 0l 302 runs great and automatic overdrive shifts out tight! This bronco drives and handles nice and feels tight! Nice original undercarrage and exhaust looks original! Nice engine bay! Orginal spare tire and cover & orginal rear step bumper and bronco has never towed anything its never had a ball installed. A title is not required in georgia for a 1985 to sell but great news one will be provided.
