This is one of the nicestORIGINAL PAINT, Untouched Survivor, 1971 442's available in the World! Bornin Sunny Fremont, California. This California Blue Plate 1971 442 Survivor is aTOP SHELF investment that qualifies as a GOLDEN SURVIVOR! Still wearing itsORIGINAL SATURN GOLD Exterior paint & Desirable original Black interior, withmany desirable options to follow! Folks, the body is impressively solidconsidering its age and the fact that it's never been welded or restoredbeing over 40 years old! The body and paint are essentially a best case scenariofor an unrestored real "344 vin" 442 survivor. Super straight, pretty dry, andstill displaying the original paint, stripes, and Patina! Make no mistake, ithas its share of dings, scratches, and stone chips, as much from 40 plus yearsof life on Earth as from being driven over the 20 plus years it was in service. Thanks to Mother Nature, this car has a Patina like no other 1971 442! The carrecently came out of long term 20 plus year indoor hibernation storage while inthe second owner’s possession. After some minor servicingwas completed, and original carburetor rebuilt by one of the most legendarymechanics on the West Coast, it now runs and drives good and sounds great. However, it will still need some basic wakeup work, i. e: inspect brakes, replacetires as the original Winston PolyGlass tires are decades old, I would changeall the fluids, along with a more complete safety check, prior to driving daily. Good news is, the electrical seems to be working, including the original keybuzzer. It also still retains some of the original T3 headlights from when itwas new. I was told the original engine and transmission were rebuilt.

Streetside classics | ebay template p{ margin: 0px; } . Videos{ width: 790px; margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px; } . Videos object { height: 445px ! Purchased new in 1971 by a police chief in georgia for his wife, it remained as a one-owner car until 2012. By that time, it was a little tired, so it received a repaint in its original code 42 palm green which is a period-perfect color that gives the olds a bright, cheerful disposition. The clean lines of the oldsmobile are every bit as attractive (perhaps more so) than a comparable chevelle, with great proportions and that cool kick-up behind the doors that makes it look sporty. There are a few signs of use and age throughout, but that's something to be expected from a car that's mostly original, even one that's led an easy life like this one has. Things like the headlight bezels and grille are a bit discolored by age, but that's an easy fix in an afternoon with a can of paint, and the important stuff like the sheetmetal underneath and the panel gaps are excellent. Both the front and rear bumpers have bright chrome that still looks very good and we're particularly pleased with the fact that this car doesn't have a vinyl roof, making for a very clean profile. The all-original interior is showing some age, but we're not sure whether it needs to be replaced. It's still comfortable and the look is just right with the palm green paint job. Woodgrained panels on the doors and dash help break up all the green and the carpets, which are also original, offer just the right combination that was high fashion in 1971. And the trunk still carries its original mat and what might very well be the original spare tire assembly with jack. Oldsmobile's "rocket" v8 displaced 350 cubic inches and makes all kinds of great v8 sounds on the road. That's factory oldsmobile gold paint on the engine itself and the factory decals are still clinging to most of the components under the hood, and a day spent giving it a deep cleaning would pay big dividends. It starts easily and has a muscular v8 idle and given the coupe's relatively light weight, it feels quick and easy to drive around town. Standard steel wheels with hubcaps are the right look and carry 215/75/14 goodyear whitewall radials that still have a lot of life left in them. Not flashy, not rare, but this olds is solid, clean, and lots of v8 fun for not a lot of money. There's still something to be said for affordable fun, and this car delivers. 1971 oldsmobile cutlass - lithia springs, gastreetside classicslithia springs, ga 30122ph: 8773671835web: www. This particularly handsome 1971 oldsmobile cutlass has been treated to a hardcore makeover that includes gorgeous black paint and a hard-hitting 383 cubic inch v8 that makes this a genuine wolf in sheep's clothing. Generally, i've always felt the oldsmobiles were the most handsome of the a-bodies, and in particular, the fastback coupe with its more formal roofline and dramatic fender cut lines. Given the quality of the restoration and the car's history, it's easy to see why so much money went into restoring the sheetmetal, all of which is in exemplary condition. Just recently, the car was treated to a complete makeover, with a high-end paint shop handling high-gloss black finish and delivering a stunning car that looks like it should be a lot more expensive than it is. Somehow, the classic color only serves to emphasize the flared fenders and aggressively styled hood, while reinforcing the idea that oldsmobiles aren't just family cars. All the chrome and trim is intact and in good to excellent condition, including the intricate egg crate grille, new front and rear bumpers, and the bright trim that surrounds the side windows, making this one look distinctive. The wide bench seat wears a correct reproduction cloth seat cover, with a matching setup in back. The original are gone, replaced by a full set dakota digital gauges, and they're framed a woodgrained steering wheel that's both unusual and ideally suited to the car's mission. The trunk shows off a professional fuel cell and clean floors, another suggestion that there's more to this olds than meets the eye. No, it's not an olds small block, it's a 383 cubic inch chevy stroker motor built by matt bishop. A bit aluminum radiator and a serpentine belt drive system update the supp. Cloth Interior

The cutlass sx is truly the undiscovered general motors muscle car and will continue to gain in popularity and value as more collector car enthusiasts discover these rare gems. Sophisticated styling, luxury options, and big block performance gave the cutlass sx the reputation as the gentleman's 442 muscle car. The production numbers for the sx were less than half that of the highly sought after 442 during the 2 years of production in 1970 and 1971. In 1971 only 357 convertible sx models were produced making this one very rare gm muscle car!! This is actually the 2nd sx convertible i have owned and ironically the first one was the exact same color which is an absolutely awesome platinum mist metallic with black top and interior. This particular sx originally came out of the northwest part of the country and a gentleman who had owned it for a little over 5 years did a frame-off restoration on it about 3 years ago. Unfortunately, shortly after finishing the restoration he passed away and his estate sold the car to an enthusiast in ohio who owned it for a little less than a year. He drove it a fair amount last summer putting about 2000 miles on it with his family going to various cruise-ins and car shows.  he found another rare car he wanted and only had room for one collector car in the garage so he decided to let this cutlass sx go to the next lucky owner. Although i am quite positive this is an original, factory ordered sx i do not have the build sheet to prove that. It has all of the correct equipment and no sign of it being cloned. The information received from the gentlemans family who passed away shortly after the restoration was completed indicated that the owner of this sx convertible had a restoration shop perform a frame off restoration which was completed about 3 years ago. The body was stripped to bare metal as was the underside of the car and was then repainted in the original platinum mist metallic color it came from the factory with. The body is extremely straight and body panels gaps are excellent. The black racing stripes on the hood add to the muscle car look of this rare sx. Originally the sx came with a standard flat hood for that plain jane look, however, lets face it, with that powerful 455 v8 power plant this car deserves the more aggressive look that the dual scoop 442 hood provides. It is a steel reinforced fiberglass hood that fits great and is held down with the correct style hood locks. The overall paint quality is very good however there are some areas where the metallic is uneven. It is much less noticeable out in the sunlight but can be seen under fluorescent lights more. Another great feature of the sx was the rear bumper with the exhaust cut outs for the trumpet exhaust tips just like the 442. The bumpers look fantastic as does all of the stainless and chrome trim. Sport mirrors on both sides with the drivers side being a remote adjustable mirror. I did notice a crack in the paint on the lower passenger quarter panel below the chrome body trim. The only other flaw i noticed is a very small hairline crack in the paint on each side behind the convertible top in front of the trunk which is common especially on big block cars. Otherwise i do not see any signs of rust or previous rust repair and this sx appears to have all of its original body panels other than the hood which i mentioned. Most of the sx models came just as this one with a bench seat up front with the fold down arm rest. The interior looks practically brand new and i believe the seats are leather, or if not, they are as soft as leather.  door panels, carpeting, dash pad all look close to brand new. This sx also has power windows which work well. Also equipped with the factory sport steering wheel and tilt column.  dash is equipped with the rally pac tach and gauges which all seem to be functioning correctly. Factory original seat belts for front and rear passengers. Overall the interior on this cutlass sx looks practically showroom new. Powering this awesome '71 sx convertible is super strong 455 ci 4bbl v8. Although it is not the original matching numbers motor it is a period correct 455 that was completely rebuilt at the time of restoration according to the family of the gentleman who had the restoration done. It is mated to what could be the original turbo hydramatic 400 automatic transmission that shifts strong and smooth. Factory options include power steering, power front disc brakes and the dual exhaust with the same trumpet style tips and bumper with cutouts as the 442. The sx also has essentially the same suspension system as the 442 which makes handling a joy. Stock manifolds breathe out through a 2 1/2 inch exhaust that sounds great. As mentioned previously, during the frame off restoration that floorpans and frame rails were stripped and painted. The floorpans appear to be all original and were painted body color and look very slick still. Inside of the trunk was spatter painted and appears to be all original sheet metal. Original oldsmobile wheels wrapped in white letter radials with plenty of tread left look great. Power Windows

For reasons that aren't altogether clear, the oldsmobile cutlass continues to be a bargain-priced alternative to the virtually identical chevelles and gtos out there. This particularly handsome 1971 oldsmobile cutlass has been treated to a hardcore makeover that includes gorgeous black paint and a hard-hitting 383 cubic inch v8 that makes this a genuine wolf in sheep's clothing. It's safe to say that we like the unusual cars around here, and while a 1971 oldsmobile cutlass coupe isn't particularly rare or strange, the color combination, the ownership history, and the great preservation all make this a car that tells a great story. There's a small block v8 under the hood, incredible styling that neatly bridges sporty and luxurious, and a long list of features that make it an awesome choice over a more common (and expensive) chevelle. Fairly recent paint certainly makes for a very nice shine and the steel underneath is in above-average condition and really looks crisp under the racy red finish. It's clean and simple, which is how most of the cars were delivered when new, and we like the relatively unadorned look, which is a nice contrast to most of the other cars of the period, particularly the more luxurious oldsmobiles. Nice chrome bumpers, a pair of grilles in good shape, and familiar two-element taillights give this olds a familiar look that will never go out of style. The woodgrained appliques on the dash and door panels are likely original as well, and they're surprisingly well preserved, and the gauges with their brushed stainless faces are in good order. Options include factory a/c (the system needs to be serviced), a center console, and both power steering and power brakes. A snug-fitting black power convertible top is probably a few years old, but includes a glass rear window, which is always nice. The trunk is a bit dirty, but the original mat what may even be the original spare tire are included. Oldsmobile's 350 cubic inch rocket v8 shared only its displacement with chevy's small block, but it has a distinctly different personality. Very stock and very original, it's a bit grungy, but it runs great and this is one place some simple elbow grease would really add value. This is the car's numbers-matching engine and they have proven to be as durable as anything of the period. Backed by a th350 3-speed automatic and a 10-bolt rear end, the powertrain is rugged a.
