This car came up here from fla. 20 yrs ago, and it sat in a service station inthe back and was never driven. It was the way it is now when it came here. Ithas a 1950 specific " fatman " front clip with power rack and pinion steeringand power disc/drum brakes. It also has the correct cross members for throughthe frame exhaust. It has a big bearing 9 " ford open rear with 290 gears. Theengine is a built 4 bolt sbc 400. Built for torque with a nice low idle. Underthe valve covers are crane full roller rockers with stud girdles. He sold it tome because it had trans issues. Its a turbo 350, and i drove the car to thetrans shop and had it removed and rebuilt with a new converter. Everything works, gas gage, speedo, all interior dash lites, wipers, allexterior lites and signals. Body is super solid. Car was fromsouth carolina and the guy i bought it from was the 2nd owner. Original paintwith great patina. Cruises down the road straight with 1 finger at 70 mph..

In the early '60s, studebaker needed a new truck to stay viable but didn't have the money to build one. The champ, which took the existing pickup chassis and bed and grafted on a lark front end, creating one of the coolest pickups of the decade. This 1961 studebaker champ pickup is mildly modified, creating a fascinating hybrid in more than a few ways. Starting with a studebaker champ is one thing, but then adding a '70s camaro front clip, dodge power, a toyota seat, and a few other modern bits makes it really unique. The paint was probably done when the truck was built, and that was some years ago, so it looks the way an old truck should look. Perfection is nice, but it also renders the pickup useless as a tool, and this one has no such pretensions. The lark nose has a rugged look that's instantly familiar and the bed with its flared rear fenders looks aggressive but also neatly styled, and we can't say the look isn't appealing. The rear bumper was removed, but it still carries its original 'studebaker' tailgate and the bed inside remarkably carries a drop-in bedliner so it's still ready to work. One, it looks right and two, there's a neat cut-out for the shifter on the floor, making this champ feel sporty. Rubber mats protect the carpets, and the factory gauges look cool in their own round pods. Get in and go, no worries. There's plenty of power on tap from a 318 cubic inch dodge v8 and it looks right at home in the stude's engine bay. Finned valve covers and a chrome air cleaner are traditional ways to dress things up, and there's a new alternator down there, suggesting that someone wanted this truck reliable. Underneath, it has the aforementioned camaro front subframe, complete with front disc brakes, and the transmission is a chrysler 904 3-speed automatic. A two-in, two-out flowmaster muffler gives it a nice v8 burgle and the suspension is simple and rugged, with leaf springs holding up a late-model rear end on lowering blocks, so it has a nice stance. Gm rally wheels with spinners fit well and look great with fat 215/70/15 fron. Cloth Interior

The stunning styling of the studebaker champion regal starliner restomod (try saying that 5 times fast) has always needed a bit more horsepower than the original engines could provide. Sure, they tried supercharging a few years later, but this 1953 studebaker hardtop coupe now features a stout small block chevy v8 and all the modern conveniences, without losing its stunning good looks. The starliner hardtop coupes must have been something when they hit the streets in the early 1950s. Fit and finish are good all around, and despite a few signs of use and age, it still cuts a dashing profile and draws attention wherever it goes. Chrome and stainless trim is a big part of any '50s car's appeal, and this studebaker is no exception, offering lots of the bright stuff to really make the details stand out. The grille was similar to other studebaker products, domed hood and peaked fenders make for an awesome view from behind the wheel and there are vestigial tailfins out back, all trimmed in chrome. The sweep panel on the flanks adds some drama and that hardtop profile with the wrap-around rear window makes this car stand out everywhere it goes. The handsome interior has been thoroughly updated, giving it a clean, modern look without losing the spirit of the original design. Leather bucket seats from a pontiac gtp flank a custom center console, and the original dash has been extensively reworked. Amenities like power windows, seats, and locks, a tilt/telescope steering column, and a great-sounding am/fm/cd stereo are all part of the package. Everything inside the car is nicely finished and showing only minimal wear, so it's sure to get its share of complements at shows. A reliable 350 cubic inch chevrolet v8 replaces the original lump, and it likely makes roughly three times the horsepower as the factory mill. It's a clean installation, with much of the wiring tucked neatly out of sight and a lot of color-matched components. There are also some polished aluminum details and upgrades like power front disc brakes make it feel quite contemporary on the road. Obviously the firewall and inner fenders have been smoothed and there's a big aluminum radiator up front. A th350 3-speed automatic transmission feeds what appears to be a ford 9-inch rear end that hangs on original leaf springs. A rumbling dual exhaust gives the clean coupe just the right sound and it sits easily on those polished kmc "hot wheels" aluminum wheels with staggered 225/50/16 front and 265/60/16 rear bfg radials. Studebakers aren't for everyone, but it's easy to fall for a car that looks this good and runs this well. Maybe go off the beaten track for a while and see what studebaker's best effort can do.
